Doctors & Staff
Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Midwest Eye the leading provider of vision care products and services in Downers Grove.
Todd A. Robert, OD
“I have always been interested in healthcare and education (my parents were teachers). Within our practice, I am able to pursue both passions. It is a privilege to share time with patients, helping them achieve their best vision and educating them on how to preserve their precious gift of sight.”

Dean A. Bauer, OD
“Being a kid with myopia (nearsightedness), I was always at the eye doctor. Helping people to see, left a lasting impression on me. As the boundaries expand with eye care, I really love what I do!”

Our staff at Midwest Eye has been with Dr. Robert from 7 to 25 years! We are all members of the American Optometric Paraoptometric Association and have or are working on certification thru this organization. Continuing education is a big part of our certification and keeps us up to date on all things eye related.
Pam – Practice Manager, 26 years. CPOA (Certified Paraoptometric Assistant) and CPOC (Certified Paraoptometric Coder).
“Midwest Eye has been a blessing for all of us. Dr. Robert has included staff from the beginning, bringing us in to help with office design, listening to our ideas and incorporating them into the constantly evolving, working office we are today. It is a joy to be a part of Midwest Eye, to come to work, to work for the doctors here and to be able to help care for our patients, we all appreciate each other and the opportunity to help make a difference and we are looking forward to implementing many new ideas!”
Tammy – Insurance, 7 years.
They say “Dream big, work hard, stay focused & surround yourself with good people”. Dr. Robert’s dream has come true and all the hard work has paid off. We have a beautiful state of the art office that includes a large Optical Boutique, reception area and a business office where we are able to meet with patients to discuss insurance and billing needs. It is a pleasure working with Dr. Robert, Dr. Bauer and all the staff. Our family at Midwest Eye!
Ellen – Patient Advocate, 8 years.
“Our sunny new office is absolutely beautiful for so many reasons!! Doctors & staff are positive, hardworking, good-hearted people and our physical space is open, welcoming and bright. The panoramic window view from my front desk allows me to anticipate our lovely patient’s arrival as well as appreciate the beauty of the world outside… even if it’s raining! Quite a blessing to be here every day!”
Debbie – Optometric Technician, 7 years. CPOA
“I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work with Dr. Robert for just over 7 years. Through my journey I’ve learned so much from him and our entire team and taking the next step to becoming a Certified Para Optometric Assistant has turned my job into a career. I’m also looking forward to working with Dr. Bauer and being cross trained to further increase my knowledge. Dr. Robert’s decision to branch out and open Midwest Eye in June of 2014 was a liberating experience for us. I feel we’ve all grown from this exciting ride and am so happy that Dr. Robert’s dream has become a reality. Our beautiful office with its newest technology as well as our entire team’s wealth of knowledge is sure to provide our patient’s with the most warm, caring and positive experience. Steve Jobs once said “The only way to do great work is to love what you do”, well what’s not to love when you work with great Doctors, a great team and have great patients. Eyesight is a precious gift and I’m so proud to be part of a family that’s purpose is to provide this gift to all! ”
Danielle – Optometric Technician, 7 years. CPO (Certified Paraoptometric)
“As an optometric technician for Midwest Eye, the one thing that I enjoy the most is getting to work directly with patients and having the opportunity to be a liaison for them. I’ve personally had the misfortune of dealing with chronic illness, several misdiagnoses, and failure of proper communication channels within my doctors’ offices which often led us in a wrong direction. I like to bring my personal experiences as a patient to the table when working with our patients because I understand how truly important it is that their concerns are properly addressed and articulated to our doctors, Dr. Robert & Dr. Bauer. I feel very fortunate for this opportunity to work in such a positive environment where I am able to be an active participant in providing care and comfort to our patients. Midwest Eye is truly a gem among rocks.
Lisa – Optician, 9 years. ABOC (American Board of Opticianry, Certified) and CPO.
“I am extremely happy to a part of Midwest Eye, P.C., because we are a cohesive team & it is a positive environment to be in. I tell our patients, everyday it’s like working at Disneyland, but we get paid for it. And I am so happy to be able to help our patients with their fashionable eyewear choices and sometimes just learning from our patients has been a blessing also. Dr. Robert has been a / in our lives. I really appreciate him and my fellow team members. I look forward to all the great steps we continue to make every day, towards making Midwest Eye a superb place to have your vision needs taken care of.
Keo – Accounts Payable & Chief Comedianne 25 years.
“Blessed with employment for the past 25 years with both Dr. Todd Robert and Pam Peters. It’s been an exciting ride, both the uphill ventures and downhill wind in your hair thrills …. never gets old (unlike some of us). Grateful for all we’ve come through as a group/team/family, may God continue to be our Light. We definitely see things with a positive perspective, Love It!!!!”
